In the heart of Busoga, across Mayuge, Bugiri and Jinja clean water often feels like a treasure hidden in plain sight. Many families wake up each day to the same daunting question: Where will we find safe water today?
In countless villages, people still depend on ponds, swamps, and unprotected wells. The result? A heartbreaking cycle of waterborne diseases, missed school days and lost productivity that continues to hold vulnerable communities back.
Children suffer the most. Instead of starting their mornings in class, many set off before sunrise, walking long distances with jerrycans in hand. Others have no choice but to drink contaminated water, leading to preventable illnesses such as diarrhea and typhoid.

As Child Care Foundation Uganda (CCF), we believe every child deserves more than survival they deserve a healthy start. Through our clean water initiatives, we’ve established safe water points and supported community education on hygiene and water safety. These efforts are transforming lives but many families are still left behind.

Women and children in several villages continue to trek miles under the scorching sun, carrying heavy jerrycans from unsafe sources. The need for more boreholes, protected springs, and purification systems has never been greater.
Access to clean water is not a privilege it’s a human right. With your support, we can reach more communities, restore hope, and ensure that every child in Busoga grows up healthy, strong, and ready to learn.
